Spanish 346 Introduction to the Study of Hispanic Literature

One of the following three courses:  

Spanish 451 Literature of Spain: Middle Ages and Golden Age

4 s.h.

Spanish 452 Literature of Spain: 18th and 19th Centuries

4 s.h.

Spanish 453 Literature of Spain in the 20th Century

4 s.h.

 

One of the following courses:  

Spanish 461 Intro to Spanish-American Literature: 1492-1880

4 s.h.

Spanish 462 Intro to Spanish-American Literature: 1880 to the Present

4 s.h.

   
Correlative Requirements:

At least one course in Latin-American history or Latin-American culture and civilization

Additional hours in Spanish numbered 340 or above

Students pursuing a major in Spanish must spend a minimum of 12 weeks of academic study in a country where Spanish is the official language.

Oral proficiency examination in Spanish.

Completion of one course in Spanish after returning from abroad.

Grade Level 5-12 Second Teaching Area Program ~ This will allow you to teach 5-12 Spanish as a Second Teaching Area in the State of Iowa only.
