Grade 5 - 12 Major Program [See also requirements for Secondary Education Minor] This will allow you teach 5-12 Sociology.

Note: Student must have an Secondary Education minor in addition.

Required:
Sociology 101 Introduction to Sociology	4 s.h.
Sociology 350 Social Statistics	4 s.h.
Sociology 301 Research Methodology	4 s.h.
	Total 12 s.h.
Electives:
Five additional Sociology courses, one of which must be a seminar	15-20 s.h.
Two Social Science courses outside of the Sociology Program	6-8 s.h.
	Total 21-28 s.h.

Second Teaching Area Program [Without a major in Social Sciences] - This will allow you to teach 5-12 Sociology as a Second Teaching Area in the State of Iowa only! Student must have an Secondary Education minor in addition.

Required:
Sociology 101 Introduction to Sociology	4 s.h.
Sociology 301 Research Methodology	4 s.h.

17 additional s.h. in Sociology	Total 18 s.h.
